The time between the first attempts at walking and the ultimate triumph is hard, the path is rocky. But those who persevere will make it. Pegasus can tell you a thing or two about that - and they do. Three years after their last musical bang, the Swiss band are back.
With fresh sounds and an ode to all their heroes: "Champions" is both hope and a boost, a consolation and an epic victory anthem for the ears and even a recommendation for many radio playlists. Melancholy meets optimism and all of this is crowned by Noah Veraguth's unique voice.
"Skyline", "Rise Up", "I Take It All" and now "Champions" - you'd almost think Pegasus were producing sports anthems at the touch of a button. But that's not the case. The track (produced by Henrik Amschler) was created in a songwriting session, which is based on one thing above all: The passion and love for music. This is exactly what "Champions" summarises: passion for the cause.
"The song is for all those people who want to achieve something," says Noah Veraguth. Successes or projects take time. You don't achieve anything just like that. The finish line is often preceded by a marathon. And the opponent is often time. Veraguth continues: "The song reflects our band history: we've had to overcome several hurdles and attempts over the last few years - and we're still here."
It's no coincidence that the release, which is so boldly dedicated to big themes, also heralds the biggest Pegasus Tour the band has ever played. The tour will take the band to legendary concert venues and stages that are close to the band's heart. It will be interesting to see how Pegasus will creatively fill the space until the tour, but it will certainly not be quiet around the successful band from Biel over the next few months.
"Every little step that we take, lessons that we get from mistakes...and we're getting stronger with every day" - the message is clear: all signs point to victory if you work hard and don't let yourself be put off. Just like the band from Biel, who have hardly taken a break for over 15 years, tirelessly honing their songs and already working on the next Pegasus album.
