Loreena McKennitt @THE HALL 15.03.23
Loreena McKennitt is coming to Switzerland in 2024 with her "The Visit Revisited" tour. The presale starts on September 8 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
Just a few months after announcing her 27-city fall tour through parts of Canada and the United States, award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter Loreena McKennitt has announced plans for a European tour with stops in Geneva and Zurich.

McKennitt and four of her long-time musical companions will come to Europe in 2024 with "The Visit Revisited" -tour. The tour will start on 6 March 2024 in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and end on 8 April in London, England, with performances in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Hungary and Poland.
The tour pays tribute to her Juno Award-winning album "The Visit", which was released internationally in 1992. It was this album that catapulted her onto the world stage, where she has been comfortable ever since.
"The last time I performed in Europe was in 2019 and so much has happened since then. It will be wonderful to return to Europe next spring and see all the familiar faces we've missed in these turbulent times," says McKennitt.
McKennitt will be accompanied by Caroline Lavelle on cello, Brian Hughes on guitar, Hugh Marsh on violin, and Dudley Phillips on bass.

The first chapter of "The Visit Revisited"-tour was a 10-show tour of eight cities in Eastern Canada in September and October 2022. It followed McKennitt's September 2021 release - "The Visit: The Definitive Edition", which celebrated the 30th anniversary of her original recording of "The Visit". The limited edition deluxe album offered an enhanced listening experience and included four CDs, an audio Blu-ray and an
illustrated booklet with relived memories and previously unreleased material.
Loreena McKennitt's eclectic Celtic blend of pop, folk, and world music has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide. Her recordings have achieved gold, platinum, and multi-platinum status in 15 countries on four continents. She has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award and has won two Juno Awards and a Billboard International Achievement Award.
She has performed in some of the most prestigious and historic concert halls in the world, from Carnegie Hall to the famed Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain, and for dignitaries such as Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty King Charles III, as well as other heads of state.
In addition to her musical career, McKennitt has been honoured for a number of notable philanthropic initiatives, including:

  • The Cook-Rees Memorial Fund for Water Search and Safety
  • The Falstaff Family Centre
  • Honorary Colonel of the Royal Canadian Air Force

In 2004 McKennitt was awarded the Order of Canada and in 2013 was made a Knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters of the Republic of France.
