Live-Aid founder Bob Geldof, who played the character „Pink” in the film „Pink Floyd – The Wall” will present a series of concerts to celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of the most legendary concerts tours ever in the history of rock music. Besides Bob Geldof, the tour will feature singers and musicians who have performed with Pink Floyd or Roger Waters.

The Wall is one of the most iconic rock albums ever recorded. Pink Floyd performed the album in its entirety in 1980/81, Roger Waters in 1990 at the Berlin Wall on the border between East and West Germany. The performances drew some of the biggest concert audiences in history. Between 2010-2013 Roger Waters toured “The Wall” and it was the biggest grossing tour for a solo artist ever.

„The Wall is a masterpiece of modern music and we will have fun to present it to the audience with a modern vibe,” Geldof said. Bob was and in recent times is once again the lead singer of the well known band The Boomtown Rats. In the 70´s and 80´s Geldof had many hits including the worldwide No 1 „I don’t like Mondays” and “Do they know it’s Christmas”, which he also wrote.

Pink Floyd did not perform together for 24 years after the original “The Wall” concerts until 2005 when Geldof convinced them to perform at Live8, a follow up to his legendary LiveAid concerts in 1985 which was a charity concert to help people in Africa threatened by famine and to lobby for debt relief, aid and trade.

Besides the iconic music of “THE WALL” album the concert will include additional Pink Floyd songs such as, „When the Tigers broke free”, from the Final Cut album. Roger Waters originally composed it for The Wall. It is about the death of his father in WW II. The other Pink Floyd members considered it too personal and it was eventually included on “The Final Cut”, although its rightful place is on „The Wall” album.

The audience will be treated to the original songs of „The Wall” concerts, featuring some of the original musicians as well as additional music from Pink Floyd. The concerts will have an amazing light show and video projections – it promises to be a worthy anniversary celebration of the „greatest concert tour of all time”, to quote Pink Floyd fans from the original tour.
